Core Privacy Principle: We designed AI Can't Fix My Car to keep your personal data strictly on your device. There is no user account registration, no analytics tracking, no advertising, and no data selling.
1. What Stays on Your Device
- Vehicle Data: Your saved vehicles, VINs, odometer readings, maintenance logs, and torque bookmarks are stored only on your local device in protected storage.
- Receipts & Photos: Receipt scanning runs entirely on-device via Apple Vision. Credit card numbers are masked locally, and imported images stay on your device.
- Diagnostic History: Your trouble code lookups and multimeter test steps stay local to your phone.
2. What Leaves Your Device, and When
- NHTSA Safety Lookups: When you decode a VIN or check manufacturer recalls and safety complaints, the vehicle identifier is queried against the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) public government API. NHTSA's own privacy policy applies.
- App Purchases: Apple processes all payments and in-app purchases. We receive only transaction status from Apple StoreKit to verify your Pro lifetime entitlement. We never see or store your payment details.
- No External AI Processing: In this release, all diagnostic fault logic, circuit tests, and specification lookups run deterministically on-device from verified offline content packs. No diagnostic data or vehicle photos are sent to third-party AI providers.
3. Data Collection Summary (Apple Privacy Nutrition Label)
- Data Used to Track You: None.
- Data Linked to You: None.
- Data Not Linked to You: Purchase history (handled by Apple StoreKit for entitlement activation).
4. Your Rights and Data Export
- Full Data Export: You can export all your vehicles, maintenance history, and logs at any time as JSON and CSV files via App Settings > Export Data.
- Data Deletion: Deleting a vehicle deletes all associated service logs and test records immediately. Deleting the application removes all local application data from your device.

- 唯一外部查询：进行 VIN 解码与召回查询时，会向美国国家公路交通安全管理局（NHTSA）公开接口请求官方召回与投诉统计。
- 数据导出与删除：您可随时在应用内“设置 > 导出数据”导出完整的 JSON 备份与 CSV 表格；卸载应用即可彻底清除所有本地数据。
